Where to start?

I hope that I am posting this in the right space. I have a 2006 GMC Sierra 3500 Dually. I would like to improve power and mpg for towing and general driving. Should I start with EFI Live or an improved exhaust system? I need to keep this legal to drive on the highway in CA. Do I need to worry about having enough fuel pressure with EFI Live? If I go with the exhaust, what are the advantages/tradeoffs with 4" vs 5" vs Duals? Any input will be appreciated.:help:

I would definitely start with EFI Live tuning with a 5 position switch...MPG and power improvements are easy, even with stock exhaust...

Look into a single 4 inch exhaust they are cheap and will lower your EGT's

x2, start with the exhaust first, then EGT gauges, then with tuning IMO

Factory exhaust does an adequate job with factory tuning...Once you make changes in programming, exhaust mods might be necessary, not the opposite...I've tuned a few trucks with stock exhaust, no gauges, and big improvements in MPG...

I was just adding onto your answer macanudo :D. A tow tune and nothing else is still a great start

I'd contact The Neens he lives in Valencia, and can do anything you want for tuning :D Also you could save yourself some money by buying a license and paying Chris "The Neens" to tune it vs. Paying 800$ for the cable... Just a thought
