Where to sleep when you are on the road

Hello,

Sometimes, I spend a lot of time on the road. I have a 2008 Chevy, and it's not really comfortable to sleep in, not for a man of my size. A motel sounds like a good idea, but not if I find myself falling asleep in the middle of nowhere... ahem. Anyways, what should I do? Should I get an air mattress? Or maybe a tent and a mattress?

I run a topper that I can throw a air mattress in on long trips. If I can though usually I'll cat nap on the interstate ramps in the driver's seat of my 04.

I hate air mattresses. I use a good memory foam matress topper. A full size fits in the bed no problem. I just bought a pop-up tent that literally just pops up in 60 seconds. Im ok with it cause its fast and easy but i wouldnt recomend a bed tent cause its alot of work. I wanted a topper for my bed but i haul crap in the bed alot of times. But like i said mattress topper and a good sleeping bag and i am one happy camper in the bed. On the flipside thoe you are open to the elements with no tent or topper.

Well, an air mattress sounds like a good idea… Im not sure, though, I sleep in the front seat when I really need to, and I don't use any sort of mattress.
Personally, I don't trust blow up mattresses. They are way too easy to pierce. There are alternatives to sleeping on mattress, such as futons, but don't quote me on that. Like I said, I don't use a mattress when sleeping in the car. Maybe, you should just get a sleeping bag. I use the Coleman Palmetto for camping, maybe, you woud be a good choice for you as well.

TX of course
Can you mod the seats in the 08s so they recline all the way? Like we do on the 01-06 trucks.
