Where to order rebuild parts

I like to deal with the great venders on this site , because we can call them with questions . I ordered wheel hubs from Evans site , I know it cost more but what is his advice worth , priceless ! Oh I forgot I just just 5 days ago ordered Mike Ls trans cooler , and we all know how helpful he is.
I googled part numbers and got overpriced stuff from Amazon or companies I'm not familiar with. Rather deal with a company I know than try and save $50 and get ****ed.
I found a site a while back that only does transfer cases. Called Transfer case express. Offices on both coast.
Forgot all about transfer case express but got all the parts in and rebuilt it this evening. Had to tear it apart again because I forgot to install the new main shaft bearing in the new input shaft.
One question;
When I went to install the final snap ring on the output bearing I had to pull the shaft backwards roughly 1/8" to get the grooves to line up in the tail housing. Is this normal and does the front bearing in the input shaft need to be moved back as well?

Not sure about the input bearing but the couple of pump upgrades I have done I also had to move the output shaft back for the snap ring to go in.
