Ok....I have a built tranny, EFI, lift pump, see my sig.... My max tune is a Max Effort tune from Nick at duramaxtuner.......should I be looking into head studs, bigger injectors, etc.. anything? Or am I good until I get twins....

yea you will bend a rod before you lift a head... trust me i know
your tuning could have been the issue as well... i am very confident that my tuning will ad in the longevity of my engines survival. I also NEVER! go over half throttle on the street just no point for me to do it.

Injectors may be a nice future addition. IMO, they would allow some extra latitude in your tuning to help your motor live longer.

I'd be looking for some 40-60% nozzles to make the motor last a little longer.

I dunno if i believe that guys still crack pistons with LBZ's and larger injectors. I plan on running my setup as far as it will go in hopes of learning:D:rofl:

Well, I'd say your on the right track but to want to bullet proof your truck while still upgrading is kind of backwards.

The best way to bulletproof your truck is to leave it alone but we're not on this site for that, are we. ;)

What you've got going on now is good, but there is still a chance of meltdown. There's always a chance. Guys are running twins without headstuds, I would hold off on headstuds until you have to take the heads off, ie blown gasket. Injectors would be a good upgrade but not necessary.

The biggest thing is luck and tuning, and you can't really control either one unless you do your own tuning. Even then there's a bit of luck involved.

I'd say rock it the way it is and have fun until you need to go faster, but save or have a second car for if/when something breaks. That may never happen but it's best to have it in the back of your mind.

As of now, I was under the impression that I shouldn't really have to worry about anything.....last time I did a WOT on the Max Effort tune I didn't break 1200 on the EGT gauge and my truck seemed to handle the run really well.....it's just I had some guys asking me why I haven't put bigger injectors in, upgraded my head studs, etc.... yet....and I was kinda like....why should I? Didn't know if I was missing anything.....I was just always told that bigger injectors weren't really necessary until 600+HP on our trucks. I guess I'm just saying, my next upgrade, if I do...would be twins....but 6 grand extra isn't coming anytime soon....I'd like to buy a new house first :D So if I could spend some extra dough to make my truck more reliable......I want to know where to spend it at......I just don't wana be going WOT someday to show a friend the power, and then be F'd.

I have about half that in my twins for what its worth. Also no studs for me. Im pretty confident I will bend a rod before I lift my heads as stated earlier in this thread. Keep an eye on what TrentNell has coming for the LLY and LBZ crowd in the near future. I think you like what you see:thumb:

From here on out with any more mods, if you pop a piston, you shouldn't be surprised. If you don't want that to happen, no more mods and even that might not save you for the long haul.

not exactly. if you have a strong CP3 you can hit 625 on a decent turbo. i know two guys that have. the biggest thing with bigger injectors is the fact that you can tune back the PW and still have the same amount of power as before. So you not maxin you injector to get peak power.

have you dynoed or done any logs to see if for sure your getting everything out of that tune you have?? i thought mine hauled balls till i dyned and did a log of fuel pressure and realized my CP3 can keep up in the big tune :D

Maybe I'm missing something, but would you want to give me some info on where you got your twins? I had Trent PM me before, and he said he would get back to me in a week or something like that, but I didn't hear anything from him......and I know he's a VERY busy guy, and I"m not one to PM the crap out of people :) Esp. when they are busy.....but I'm def. looking at the best options too.
