I figured I would ask.. I have roughly 32,xxx mi. on my LLY.. I notice a little oily residue around the boots lip near the clamps with some dust and grime collected!!

SO when should these be replaced??? I figure I could repalce them and keep them as Spares in case I ever blew one at the track or on the road!!!

I do th esame thing with Belts and Radiator Hoses!!!

Any ideas???

THANKS

The oil comes from the PCV system that comes from the factory on our LLYs...
Search the Diesel Place for "PCV reroute", lots of reading...

Keeping spare belts and hoses is always a good idea, may prevent you from getting stranded...

So guys when are aftermarket or repalcement Boots a good idea then???

I run a stock charger so I probable will never break the 500 RWHP barrier!!!

I just think it would be a good idea to repalce them as preventative maintenance!!!

I've got approx. 35,000 "harder than average" miles...No trouble yet...If you want to get some, I'm sure you can track some down somewhere other than a dealer...
