What would you do?

Ok so my 09 is a D/D and the wife and I have gotten into drag racing this year, we are making 3-4 trips a month to the track that being a couple test and tunes and a couple bracket races.

I am running a 230hp max effort and just figured out I am losing rail pressure at WOT, commanded is 26,100psi and actual can be as low as 21,900psi so I need to do something about the rail pressure. I have a fuel pressure gauge coming to see what my lift pump is set at and if I need to adjust the pressure up, I am also going to shim the FPRV so this might take care of the issue.

I plan on doing larger injectors and possibly dual fuelers if adjusting the lift pump does not help with the rail pressure, also the plan is to install a SDP S475 over stock twin kit.

I can't afford to do both this year so what would you start with, new larger injectors and possibly dual fuelers or a twin kit?

I would add the extra air before the extra fuel.

twin kit you can still have fun with on stock fuel. Can't have too much fun with lots of fuel on a stock turbo.

Get the rail pressure figured out. Then go with the twin kit. You can max out the stock turbo with stock fueling, so larger injectors and dual fuelers isnt going to gain you much with a stock charger IMO.

I agree with more air first and as far as losing rail pressure, you may have more pulse width than your fuel system can handle. Get that dialed in where your not dropping so much rail and you should have more power.

You shouldn't be draining the rails on a stock turbo tune if your lift pump and cp3 are operating correctly

I guess I should have said I am looking at protecting the stock motor as much as possible, I know twins can lower EGTs, and a little extra HP would be ok.

My thoughts on going larger injectors would not be for more HP but getting a lower pulse width for safety for the stock motor. And I have a line on a PPE duall fueler kit with pump for $1500.00.

That's the problem, with the wife racing the truck I am afraid she might have too much fun and grenade the motor;)

Ok, thanks for the input.

I have sent a data log to my tuner for them to review and see what they think.

I think either my lift pump is set to low or it could be a cp3 issue, my truck had gas run through it which could have damaged the cp3.
