I got a 99 express van with a 5.7 in it. took all my equipment out of the cargo trailer and into the van.

It's not quite what I'm used to, but it works. Its a 10 year old work van and needs a few things. Power steering has a leak, front bumper is dented, a few other misc stuff.

On another note, I've been making phone calls, going after the deadbeats that owe me money. I hear from a friend that one guy that owes me has a 98 or 99 express van with a blown motor he is trying to sell.

So I talk to him and he is willing to give me the van and take it off the balance that he owes me. I hear he wanted $500 for the van. He hasnt paid me a dime on what he owes me and the bill is over 3 years old. I've got about $700-800 in late charges added on his bill, and he isnt disputing that either.

He also tells me he just had a garnishment that sucked all the $ out of his bank account and is beyond broke. I looked up his address on his cities assessors site and it says he hasnt paid his property taxes is over 3 years.

I'm thinking get the van before the state/feds seize everything he owns. Then figure out what to do with it. Maybe part it out, maybe find a 5.7 and replace it.

Went and looked at the van and talked to the shop its sitting at. It came in on a tow truck because it overheated and was still hot when it got there. Definatly has a blow head gasket acording to the shop owner, and maybe more.

Better get what ever liquid asset you can.

for around 15-1900$ you can get a new long block , get it running and have another work vehicle or sell and recoup some loss. Good luck.

Definitely take the van as a partial payment before bankruptcy takes it from him. you can always figure out what to do with it later if you can sit on it for some time.

started my new job as a repo man today:rofl:

looks like its got about a gallon of coolant in the oil. it did run good enough to drive up on the trailer.

what a trip too.... met a friend for breakfast, his brother had the trailer. got to his brothers house to grab the trailer and someone hit the door lock button on the stepchild remote and locked the van doors while it was running. nice! Allison the dog did seem pretty happy sitting in the drivers seat with the van running as we tried to jimmy the doors open.
get the hour drive to the forclosure van done and what do you know the trailer has 2 flats. I've got 2 brand new trailer wheels and tires in the van but of course the lug pattern is wrong. the shop where the van is cant find the key because they have it on the tag as a 2001 chevy truck, not a 1998 van.

oh well, got it all back without beaking anything

Well, drained the coolant based oil out, put in some fresh oil. pulled the lower radiator hose and drove it the 3 blocks from the shop to home. messed with it a bit over the weekend.

as the radiator fills with water some of it drains directly into the oil without the engine running.

might just pick at it for a while then scrap it.

So now you have:
07 LBZ 3500 CC/LB SRW
06 LLY 3500 Express Van
99 5.7L Express Van
and a dead 98-99 5.7L Express Van

Sounds like you need to make that LLY a drag van.
