I have a 93 5.0l in pretty damn good shape. new built trans and strong EFI motor. 73k orignal on the clock and I'm second owner.

I also have a 64-1/2 mustang I am ready to get going on, which needs a trans, wheels, paint and a little more body work. the motor in it is not stock but not great either.

Option A: Sell 93 for cash to get a motor and trans

Option B: Pull motor and trans from 93 and put in the 64

Option C: just wait till I can afford motor/trans and keep 93

I love my 93, people ask what my dream car is and I tell them I own it. Its true, back in High school I wanted one so bad and I just knew someday I'll have one. Last year I came across this one and it was a very good car and deal so I bought it. I wanna keep it but I really wanna get the 64 up and going too.

if you own the 93 out right keep it IMO it is worth more to you then selling it.

take your time with the 64.

my "project" has become my daily driver.

Put a 4BT Cummins in it. :D

Seriously, the 64 is a collector car. They are foul handling, with poor brakes, and even the fastest ones were slow. Get it clean with "semi-original" driveline for the best ROI, and just hang onto it. Don't put a modern driveline in it unless you really want to drive it alot.

Classic cars, even disassembled, are appreciating much like stocks and bonds, and should be thought of as such.

Restoring one to "original" is often not wise, since it will nickel and dime you to death and eat up all the investment appreciation.

Your 93 is going to be a far better "car", but might never become an investment in your lifetime. Drive the 93, store the 64.

IMO...

Gotta agree with Pat on this one. Keep them both. The 64 will appreciate, even without the "original" drivetrain in it. If you wanted to have the 64 as a daily driver type, then put modern stuff in it. Otherwise, keep it close to "original" and have it as an investment/show car.

yes the nickle and dime part of restoring a classic car is no joke. my dad and I have well over 30,000$ into my chevelle, and once its fully done we will have 50'000 into it.
