Help: what the Hell is going on

I need your help guy's I've got some problems. I didnt watch the news to realize it was going to get -15 last night and this morning its about -14 any way I forgot to plug my truck in and i fired it up this morning and it sounded pretty bad turning over but idled o.k, so I hopped in the shower and got ready to go and realized the truck was idling funny and the engine light was on I drove it down the road and it wouldn't run over 2,000 rpm and I figured maybe my fuel was geled so I went and got some diesel 911 and drove around for a while oh yeah the code was an 0087, why is that? I'm not running a hot tune anymore and only got that when I got on the throttle not at an idle. Well I cleared the code and thought that eveything would be ok and I got on it a little bit and it does'nt run as good it falls on its face and it seems to rattle louder what the hell is that about, I made sure my engine temp was above 180 before I got on it ofcourse. Did I get that code because it was cold and possibly geled fuel is it not running good because the 911 hasn't made it through the system and ungelled every thing or what.P.S I hope its something simple

I'd say fuel gelling.

Yah maybe a blockage in your fuel system and it's not building the rail psi it wants or not close enough and it set the code. Have you been able to look at your rail psi? both desired and actual

I had this happen at -30C a couple of years ago. All I did was fill the truck up and dump in a full bottle of Stanadyne and change the fuel filter. I run additive all the time now, it even worked fine at -40C last winter. Hope you get it sorted out.

you Canadians are sick for putting up with weather that cold:D

Thanks guy's I hope it was just the fuel it seems to run ok now but I havent got on it at all though but it seems alright P.S Sorry I wig out every time I think somethings wrong I just try to take good care of the truck and it is the nicest truck I have ever owned and I get pretty anal about it sometimes

I do as well, just remember where you live you need to run an anti gelling additive always.

You Americans are sick for putting up with the EPA!!

Diesel911 works well to get you back in the game as well in case you gel off.
