OEM Denali Bose Lux with OEM touchscreen nav and 6 disk in console. Best damn OEM stereo Ive ever heard, so Ive never had a need or want to change it.

BTW new guy, the forum has got individual sections on the topics you are interested in, so your threads should go into whichever one is relevant.....instead of here in the Intro section. Thanks. :)

I have alpine spr60 and 60c's in my doors. Sound great at factory power level, but are incredible amped. I'm thrilled with them, $250 for the set.

Anymore information on doing the Denali Bose swap?

JL audio I've got the door speakers when I get home I'll be putting a tw13 in behind the seat. I paid 150 for the front and I think it was 180-200 for the back doors I got the fronts on sale.

Buddy of mine has a JL 12 w-7 and I can FEEL it and tell what song it is with him driving beside me on the interstate.

Denali swap isn't worth it imo. The center speaker is legit, but with good after markets the stage is excellent. If you're already amped and subbed, I'd get the alpines I mentioned or similar specs from any quality brand. Then spend the extra on wiring and dynamat. Both things make quite an improvement

I like my stock bose system in my 06. I don't listen to music much anyways so not overly concerned...if it fails I'll deal with it but they do just fine

The stock bose system sounds great imop. My denali has jl door speakers and a 600w jl amp pushing them and a single 10" under the rear seat and it is the best sounding system I've ever had.

Since we're on the topic. Aren't the factory OBS bose speakers and amps a different ohm than most aftermarket speakers?

The bose is wired differently, and dependent on year uses the mos transmission system. When doing aftermarket speakers, it's best to route around the bose and remove OEM stuff where appropriate. The bose isn't that much better than the regular OEM system, it really just has sub channel which enhances the rest of the system. It's totally sufficient for most people, music people find it acceptable, but easily improved.

I just want to change the speakers for now. Later I'll rewire everything directly when I add an amp. I was just curious if any aftermarket speakers would swap in because I though I remembered that only certain ones did with the bose amp.

you could really attach any speaker if you wire it in. The impedance is slightly different but still workable. Unless you have failing speakers, you'll get the best performance from the OEM bose until you're ready to remove it.

You'll want to get 2 ohm aftermarket speakers if replacing the factory Bose door speakers and otherwise keeping the Bose amp and stuff.

The stock Bose speakers are somewhere around 3 ohms...so if you go up to a typical 4 ohm aftermarket speaker, it will be a little quieter....so if you're looking at aftermarket speakers, try to find some that are 2-ohm. You can use 4 ohm and it'll work fine and sound good, it just wont get quite as loud.
