what is a good speaker to replace them with?
on a scale of 1-10 (10 being top O' the line) i'm looking for a 7-8 speaker set

i currently have a kenwood ddx-616 head unit (dvd/nav...blah blah blah....)

same goes for the tweeters and rears

I put Polk DB components and tweeters in my brothers Audi. I think they were like 150 a pair and Crutchfield had a deal where the second set was half off. He has 6.5s front and rear as well as tweeters and two fosgate p2s in the trunk all with alpine amps. Its thunderous and was inexpensive compared to other systems Ive heard that sounded inferior.

the factory bose speakers are not half bad, for what they are. Its the stock bose amplifier that is a piece of shit, IT is the limiting factor. Not the speakers.

I dont think you'll really find THAT much of an improvement, but who knows? I could very well be wrong.

I'm assuming he was prepared to do 10 new speakers and two amps. But yes if you are just going to replace the speakers you may get better clarity and less washing but trays about it.

will be ditching the bose amp for sure. those audison's look very tempting. never heard of them and after reading several reviews on them , i will definitely look into them, plus the price is not bad considering what you get. as for a sub i would much rather have something that hits hard and fast and most importantly clean (i listen to rock mostly) ..... big single? 2xsubs?

.....dont want to make it seem like im rolling through the hood:rofl: with a loud obnoxious bass system

i just dont want to go down to some audio place and have them sell me whatever they want and tell me its the shit. its very hard to find peolple in the audio places that actually know theyr stuff.usually they just want to sell you what they have

If you want clean you will need a good 4-channel amp for the speakers like at 4 Ohms 100watts x 4

Then a sub amp that is had more power then the RMS of the sub. Like if the sub is 500 watts RMS go with a 600watt RMS amp. That way you can have it set lower and have cleaner sound.

For you I would say a 10" sub will work good but make sure it is a good one like JL or Alpine at min a dual voice coil.
