I talked to suncoast and they said the the closest person to me was right where I am in Tallahassee. So I called them and they said they only install stage Vs and said they could do it for about 300 dollars. So I talked to suncoast again and they said Tim Moye transmission could put in a kit for me, so I called them and they wanted about 1600 dollars plus fluid in labor. So then I called Jeff Garmon and he said to call Darren Morrison in Cairo, which is about 30 min from me, and he said he could do it for about 1000 dollars, but now I can't get him to call me back.

So should I just save up the money for the stage V? I would think the IV and V would cost the same but it looks like it would cost a lot more for the V?

I wouldn't deal with suncoast directly, i would call Big Dipper or Mike L and get better customer service and more tranny for your money. I have the Stage V, and everyday i wish i called either of them first.

Its just that suncoast is so close to me. It seems like it would be easy to get someone to build my transmission with the economy so bad, unless trans shops are not really making money on building transmissions? This is not something I can do myself, I just don't have the tools, place, and time to do it.

Yeah Suncoast blows.

On the other side I am in the charlotte area and could beat both those prices. PM me if interested. Its a long drive though.

You can also try to get ahold of Steve Phillips of B&B pulling. His nephew buids trannys and I believe they are in the bradenton area

but does it really matter ..... if its true mike will still be selling the best parts on the market , he could be just bypassing the middle man and make his own kits . he has to eat most warrentee's anyway and they make all the profits on parts .

Yeah, I talked to Tim Jr. and he was really nice and told me he could do it in about 2 or 3 days. I guess I would still have a better deal going with a IV from him for about 4800 dollars than spending 5000+ on a stage V. Im really not even sure I even need a IV because I know I will be leaving my truck stock except for EFI live and probably a lift pump.

Tim Moye is good shop, and they build all of there trannies in a clean room that rivals most NASCAR engine shops for cleanliness. Also you have to remember in the price they quote you, you're not just getting the SC4 kit. He doesn't believe in just throwing a kit in, if he does it he will also do all of the seals and apply pistons as well as replace the bushings in it and do the bearings if they need it. Plus he gives you a 2 year warranty on everything except hard parts. I started to have him do mine, but ran out of money so I'm doing it myself with a parts list courtesy of Mike L(thank you Mike).

Ok thanks for the help. I think im going to call Tim Moye again and let him do a scIII, after seeing all what happend I guess its better to go with that instead of with a V from suncoast. I just hope I don't spend a lot of money trying to get down there and back.
