what is the log on/off button on the cord for??? i would think it would be to turn logging on and off but mine doesnt work---------its the one on the little black box on the cable between the laptop and the truck, also what are the little orange connectors for that plug into the side of the box:confused:

I think you can log a small bit of data w/out a computer by using that button, but I am not sure how to use it.

I believe that the little orange connectors are for hooking up a thermocouple to the little black box, although I am not sure how to do that either. There was a thread on the DP about it, but they were having problems with the readings not working, something about the possible grounding making it read 32' -Jeff

yes you are correct they are for plugging in a egt or other thing for external data the problom was that they where not using th right type of wires i believe and yes i think you can log upto 45mins just ith black box logging i have only used it a couple time though

You need to load your PID's into the Cable by going into the Scan Tool, then push the green button on the top left corner to connect to cable, then FLASHSCAN->PROGRAM SELECTED PID's Into CABLE.

Now when you want to record, you do not need your computer in the truck. Just plug in the cable into the data port, and push the START button to start recording, and push again to stop recording. It will record several 1/4mi passes before it's "full". Then you can plug it into the computer and download the files for review.
