What gear to pull in?

I am sure this has been talked about a few times but I will ask again. Does anyone pull in 1st gear high range? I am sure it's hard on the transfer case but the gearing from what I can figure would be just about right. I usually start in 2nd low range and get up to 4th low ranges. Any helpful info would be great

Im real curious as well, I am running very similar set up to you and I pull 4 lo, 3rd gear. I have 35's and 3.73 on gearing. I have had other issues to get straightened out, but should be all good now.

Yes it's my lmm, I am running a 305 55 20 3:73 gears. I have a pull coming up this weekend, I am going to try a 3rd gear start and shift into 4th but I really want to try 1st high range just don't want to wreck my t case or worse have a bad pull!

I can't believe your hookin 4th. I was mid low 700's last year, and only pulled 4th on loose tracks. I also burned up alot of goerend and p.i. Torque converters

That's what I was thinking! Must be some really loose tracks or tires don't get much traction.

Does it snuff the turbo out at the end in 4th? Or keep digging?

I wouldn't know, all my last pulls lastyear broke lol. The one time I made it to the end I think it was gonna spin out but it snapped a u joint

I pull 3rd low and I might go to 4th because I have alot of wheel speed and I think 4th might bring me down enough to get better traction. U can def smell burnt rubber at the end of a hard track. I run 373 gears and 285s. Rear pressure at 60 and front at 40.

Lol, u need to drop some serious air pressure... That would help!

I went with 60-40 because my tracks are usaully hard and I'm afraid if I go down to far I'll hop and not get a gd pull. I went from 65-50 to 60-40 this past weekend and never got below 300'. That's with no added wieghts. My furthest was 330. I don't run traction bars or bump stops currently, or wieghts.. That's 60 rear and 40 front
