I know ill probably be crucified for this but I use the napa dex III which is pretty much regular valvoline dex III. I'm sure transynd is far better but it is perfect after 60k

after a conversation I had with an engineer at allison i'm a fairly strong beliver in dex 6. his two cents wer ethat dex 6 hadn't been tested for the tes 295 standard (the standard for transynd), but he thought it would probably pass.

at the time there were only 4-5 tes 295 approved fluids.

it doesn,t hurt to have dex 6 in bulk quantities fairly cheap at work.:thumb:

Watch out for the tooth fairy as she is know to give bad info. I would not flush my toilet with Dex 6. The normal testing of fluids was never done by GM. Too much trouble. It bit them in the ass as well as a lot of truck owners.
I work with engineers and they have no idea what we do with these trucks. They recite from their books and when something goes wrong they are lost. None of them can build a trans. They love the feedback that I give them.
I know what's going into the Alli in 2014 but am not allowed to talk about it.

This seems to be the consensus with the people I've talked to using Napa dex III. Glad I'm not the only one. I just did an internal filter and fluid change and was shocked at how well the fluid looked.

What kind of issues do you see with dex6 mike? Lord knows I value what you have to say more than some white gloved college degree nerd that can't even build a trans.

The problem with Dex 6 is there was no testing done on it. I always know what fluid is coming out 2/3 years from now and what it's suppose to do. Dex 6 shows up over night with no explanation what it's suppose to do. WTF I didn't like it right off the bat cause I knew nothing about it and I refused to use it. Looks like I was right.
Dex 6 cause hundreds of Allisons to go into meltdown a few years ago in Canada. Seems someone forgot to do cold room testing and it solidified at a warmer temp than Dex 3. WTF Then we find out that Dex 6 is not compatable with the front pump seal and they started leaking fluid. WTF What other dirty little secrets are going to spring up out of the wood pile?
Allison told GM they didn't like it. GM didn't give a ****. Since Allison doesn't handle the warranty on these units; they don't give a **** either and do not recommend it in their transmissions.

Lol I always love how much the information changes when you talk to people who actually know what's going on.

Knowing someone at the Top helps a lot and the info I get is beyond reproach. Sometimes it's not what you know but who you know. ;):D
