this reminds me of when i was trying to smog the workhorse earlier this year. every shop gave me a different diagnostic. (95 c1500) truck was failing the smog. no CEL
it ranged from a bad fuel pump to intake manifold gaskets......
turned out to be the cat ....I FIGURED IT OUT!!!!!

i wouldnt doubt they were using these dice on me:rofl:

I am going to order some of these, thanks Pat. I get customers all the time coming in and asking if I have one of those computer machines that will tell them whats wrong with their cars and maybe even fix it. My reply is usually this "if they made such a machine and I had one I wouldn't be working anymore, I would be on the beach somewhere spending my millions":roflmao:

Just a little heads up Joe, a new cat can sometimes cover up other underlaying issues that need to be addressed. if you find yourself replacing a cat every year or every other year to pass, something else is goin on. jsut something to keep in the back of your mind :)

im ordering a few sets of those to give to my family. i seem to be the "family mechanic" and this would be a good way to get them off my case :D

crappy part is that i did end up replacing several parts per their diagnostics.with 5 smog checks and all the parts i was trowing at it, i was in $688.64

it wasnt passing because the cat was hollowed out:eek:
