I'm picking up my new truck in January. most of you will likely know the truck its, xcablb7's (james) truck. I'm going to be using it for prostreet diesel next season and I'm not sure what the best turbo will be for it. I have a bit of knowledge but when it come's to running bushings and different wheel's I'm a little clueless. Basically I want to run the best 2.8 71.5 mm turbo I can. any recommendations?

I would also talk to Mark at Danville. He won't steer you wrong and he will also tune it. I also have a batmowheel S475 that Mark worked his magic on that might work for you. Would have to talk to Mark about it first to see his thoughts.

Some of the big guys run precision turbos, I'm sure some off them will chime in. but anything off the shelf isn't going to be on top. What are the rules. That will determine wear route you can take.

[/QUOTE]25. Turbocharger: The vehicle is limited to a single turbocharger. Twin turbos are not allowed for any reason even if originally equipped from the manufacturer. The turbocharger size for the class is 2.8” in size. This equates to 71mm. A 2.8 bushing will need to be used if the compressor wheel exceeds 2.8. If a bushing is used, it must be round, at least 3/4 inch long, mounted within 0.050 inch of the compressor wheel and the inside diameter of the bushing may not exceed the 2.8 inch limit at any point. The inlet will be measured using a 2.85 inch plug. A stock map width enhancement (MWE) groove is allowed. No MWE groove will be allowed that has a width greater than 1/4 inch. All provisions allowing air to the wheel other than via the bore and the MWE groove are prohibited.

Yes Dave's turbo will work but it needs to be sent to me so I can make you a new cover for it to fit these rules! Dave's turbo is good for 900++hp with a 2.8 legal cover on it.:thumb:

I know there is nothing "cheap" about sledpulling but james says hes had it stall up to 2500 would that be enough? I would like to try and get away with that converter as long as I can. If it fails ill upgrade it

Ever look into harts? Commonly a tractor fuel and turbo shop. I know they make 3.0 hx60. Idk if they can make a 2.8 charger, I would think if you can run a bushing that wouldn't be a problem. You will pay alot, but they make a lot of power.
