In a Duramax?

In table B1021 in my tune I just set the whole table to 1 injection.
Truck runs fine with no problems in all of my tunes except the smoke tune.
At about 1,800rpm the truck hangs up and starts to pop and blow white smoke.

As long as you slowly raise the rpms it will be smooth (inpark only), but with any fast (even normal acceleration) it will start popping and smoking.

So what makes a smoke tune do this but everything else works fine? Hmmmm

That is the only table I have changed I did not adjust any fuel timing because B1021 doesn't include pilot, just post. Or does it?

Your putting out the fire with too much fuel it seems. I'd back the fuel down. Why only 1 injection cycle? It runs smoother quieter with 5.

Set post injection to 0-it dosen't do anything except burn more fuel for emissions reasons anyhow.

I guess that makes sense, because my friend who has a stuck injector on his powerstroke has this problem, just didn't think of that because I have less injections now so I figured I would have less fuel rather than more.

Why only 1 injection cycle?

I just wanted to see what it sounded like, alot of fuelknock... Sounds good in the tunes it runs fine with IMO, but I'm sure I'll put it back how it was before it gets too annoying

It barely does this on a small tow tune too, but not scary like this atall

When you set that table to 1, you shut off all but the main injection. I would play with the timing. Try advancing it a little, and if that doesn't work, retard it.

Thanks I have very little timing in that rpm range, I guess I will add some tomorrow if I have time and use trial and error to find the least amount with a smooth ride
