Evening Folks,
I decided to join over here because I think I have hit the ceiling of the knowledge I can gain over at the other forum. Too many technical questions go unanswered while there are lots of multipage threads about "plasti-dipping" your grill. Hopefully there is more technical knowledge to be had here. Now that I am done ranting, on to some more about me and my truck.
My name is Jimmy and my truck is a 03 3/4 ton Chevy Silverado ECSB with about 113k on the clock. I bought her about a year ago to pull the woman's horse trailer but the diesel bug bite me pretty quick after I starting poking around. With that being said I have a friend that hauls commercially and owns the farm where I board my Quarter Horses. He runs two pretty tuned up 6.7L Cummins 1-ton Duallies, not your typically Dodge guy to say the least about him. He opened my eyes up to what kind of performance could be had out of a diesel truck with just a few modifications. He tried really hard to convince me a Dodge was the choice but the GM guy at heart I am couldn't bring myself to own a Dodge. So a Duramax/Allison it was.
Now that you know a little about me, here is some more about my truck. It is my fist diesel but I have been wrenching and building cars since I was old enough to walk.
The mod list is simple but really woke the old girl up:
Edge Insight CTS
EFILive by Kory Willis
PPE Boost Valve
MBRP 5inch Downpipe back
Swiss-Cheesed stock airbox - K&N Filter
Couple other things but nothing major.
Engine bay - stock looking but clean.
A little winter fun
Balance Rates at idle - About 70k on these sticks
Newest Toy - Blue Ribbon Twi-Lite 2 Horse Slant Load Horse Trailer. All aluminum, pulls great - runs about 6-7k fully loaded on the way to a show.
A picture of my American Quarter Horse "Prada" - Registered name: A Mighty Chip and myself. Placed last year at the Congress in the Versatility - HUS and Pole Bending.
Thats about all for now, look forward to swapping some ideas and having some questions answered!
Thanks,
Jimmy
