Went to the track last night, have a couple questions.

Went out last night. didn't take anything off the truck other than the tailgate, so i know the weight isn't helping. Ran a 10.95 @ 129 and a 10.97 @ 130, couple slower passes as well. Running the MT drag radials and the tranny is not liking the 1-2 shift at all. 60 fts are awful 1.75 range. anyone else running into problems with the shorter tires? i could 60 ft better with my proxes at the same hp level. launching at 25-2600 rpm. i backed down to 2300 and it helped a bit. i can't go any lower or big turbo won't be lit. any thoughts?

Tell us what the truck is doing on the launch? 1.75 on Drag Radials isn't very good but could be a number of things causing it. Is it launching straight and the 60's are just not good or is the truck all over the place hopping and spinning?

try a second gear start. higher rpms for spooling but less torque multiplication. Its easier to launch harder.

I have witnessed Dmitri's truck on the 1-2 shift... so nasty and it shifts so soon after it is launched also seems like it hurts ET

Yes with the smaller tires I would try a 2nd gear launch as well. I know when you get up there in the power the tranny likes to shift sooner than lower powered trucks would and that will hurt you sometimes. If the tires will hook try launching harder and see what happens.

that's what it feels like. It launches straight, but seems like it gets lost and hangs the shift.

What have you done for suspension? I'd try a 2nd gear launch maybe shoot Trent a PM his truck runs in 1st and he doesn't seem to have to same issues

Isn't he running a pretty tall tire though.... run 1st out a little more.??

Cal tracs, rancho 9000's if i run my proxes 31.5 tall or the nostalgia's 31 tall, i don't have the problem and cut 1.60 or better.
