So yesterday I gave the truck a bath after replacing the alternator and belt and I found something weird in the door jamb / Fender Gap. I found it while washing it leaves and dirt between the front Fender and cab (have to open the driver door to see/access it)

Anyone have any idea what this is?

More than likely it's the cover on the end of the cowl. The little flapper door part can/will break off. When I get home I'll snap of one.

Anyone have replacement instructions/part number? Where does it go? I couldn't tell from Tom's picture.

Do I need to reinstall it?

You can't re install it. It broke off. It's part of that black piece clipped in the edge of the cowl. It has 15713205 on the one on my cowl driver side.

Pass side is 15040083 and it is also discontinued.

If you find somewhere you can still get them to replace it, then absolutely. Also, please let us know because I need to buy a couple for my rigs.

They have been discontinued for a while. You might find one like on SUV that was garage kept and got wrecked but I doubt there any good at this point considering the age of these trucks. I mean I am in CA and there broken on all my rigs... just pulled the one out of the fender a few weeks ago on my diesel after pulling the wheel liners to get all the trapped debris out from behind it.

It would be good to see if some one can reproduce them since they have been out production for so long.
