WARNING!! GPU3 guys!!!

There is a new WU type out that is brutal. It's 6811 and 6800. You only get them if you -advmethods on.

Turn fans up all the way and declock your cards if overclocked. It took my card up to 65°C when it runs 40°C on other jobs.

Probably restart without -advmethods is the safest path.

PS - This only affects nVidia Fermi cards, 430,450,460,465,470,480, (580 if you're a stud).

Running on Auto for the fan settings my card is at 60c. It is only using 30% fan speed, I manually push it to higher and drop the temp. I'm running a 10938 project right now.

Yep, that's 62C at IDLE!!

I've had that card sit at 75C for hours on end while I play games. My desktop's CPU sits at a constant 70C because my cooler sucks (stock Q6600 cooler). Never burned anything (except my legs) from these temps.

OK, I forced the fan to 100%, and turned the clock down to 750mhz (stock) and it's now 48C. I crashed twice at 900mhz, when it had been running sweet before.

But the PPD sucks. About 9-10k on these.

But a 465-470-480 should come out ahead on these.

I've tried to check in on this section from time to time since you all started and I can't, for the life of me, understand a single thing you all are talking about! I'm usually decent at getting a handle on things but computers absolutely BLOW MY MIND on their workings. I just can't seem to wrap my mind around them very well at all. Never mind programming. I was thrilled to death in my into to Basic C+ class when I wrote a "hello world" program. It blows my mind to imagine the programming that must be in the background to get something as simple as the freaking smilies on here to be smilies just from "0" and "1" assembled just right. Just can't get it. Don't even try anymore.


You all are the coolest bunch of truck enthusiasts I've ever seen for your other interests. Cool cats!! :thumb:

The GPU database shows it will run the GPU program. Did you try the GPU2 or GPU3?
