So is TX Christoper still making these kits or has anyone else come up with something... my lly stays one click below 210 pretty much all the time now... it will drop from time to time but this is getting old and I wanna get this problem fixed because I'm not even towing with it when it does this. What's the normal engine temp supposed to run?/ 180ish?

Ive never understood the whole lly overheating issue. Ive leaned on my dads lly pretty hard and its never had an issue. I used it on Sunday to tow my truck to a pull and the fan only came on once and that was pulling some decent hills at slow speeds. I also have 2 close friends with lly's and they've never had an issue either.

Mine always sits one click below 210. Never had it higher. Fan comes on occasionally but what else can you expect with 100*+ temps and hauling a trailer. lb7 was no different.

Ever try a new mouthpiece?? My fan used to run more with the lly version, barely runs at all with the lbz one. Can't really tell what you have done to your ride.

That sounds about normal to me from all the Dmax's I've been around. All the years seem to be around that temp, not just the LLY. Mine (LLY) runs there pretty well all the time and I've never had an overheating issue, the fan will just come on occasionally when I'm towing a little heavy.

well my truck used to stay around 180ish and might climb to one click below 210 on a long hill. but once I started going bigger on the mods it started to make it's home at the click below 210... and doesn't come down till you come off the throttle and are say coasting for a couple hundred feet... but if you all say this is normal, that's great cause I just saved a lot of money. I just thought it was strange that it started staying there and I wasn't even towing... kinda made me worried to tow. Thanks guys

My truck with lbz mouth piece, lbz s&b filter kit, and 18ft cargo trailer loaded maybe 8000# will get higher than 210. i have a gauge tapped into the air lock fitting on top of the tstat housing, and in high temp days towing it will be all of 210 and on grades will creep higher. my ipc gauge sits like all of yours at a click below mid. I am going to upgrade the trans cooler before my trek to myrtle this summer hopefully keeping the trans cooler, thus keeping the coolant a little cooler.

For what its worth the temp guage on the dash is mostly an idiot guage. Do what stacks did and put in an aftermarket guage. Give you a better idea of whar your temps are actually doing.

than put an electric one on...

I just had a new WP put on my truck and it will sits at about 200. A while back i remember it being in the 190 range but like the others said it's not very accurate to begin with.
