VIN license question

I'm looking at buying a V2 and wanted to find out if there has already been a vin license purchased on a pervious device would i need to buy a new one or would it carry over since it has already been purchased before?

A vin lisc is attached to the serial # from a given V2. If you purchase a V2 with "liscenses on it" they will not leave that V2, not transferable. So that's a great purchase if you can find one with a liscense or two.

If the owner has already used the two that came with the unit, you will need to buy a lisc for each ECM you intend on flashing.

Ok so if i had someone else obtain a vin license for my ECM and i want to reflash it, i would still need to buy a new license?

The license is attached to the FlashScan V2 device. If you use a different V2 you will be required to license the ECM. If you use the same V2 it will already be licensed and you are good to go.

If the V2 you are buying is the one that was used to tune your truck the first time, then the V2 will recognize your ECM has already been liscensed. If you are buying a different V2 from someone completely different than yes you will have to buy another liscense.
