It's not deadliest catch but a lot of hard work for-sure! When there was a sudden amount of great whites off the MA coast did you get to see any?

try to fish good weather windows as they come

Seems to be less and less of these windows the last couple of years. Damm weather, I too used to commercial fish but the ever changing bottom complex regulations stoped most small grouper fisherman here and the mackerels are not schooling like they used too...

Looks like all had a killer haul that trip, pretty work...:D

Yep every single scallop, thats why we try to work on the big stuff(less cutting & better price) figure 18,000lbs, 15scallops to a pound avg. 270,000 scallops that have to be shucked in 7 days
avg. day is 18hrs working

one of the guys I work with was going to San Diego to do the lightboat/seine squid fishing this past winter

this month I have gotten in one day trip & 3 days on the big boat thats it
the regulations get worse every year, probably 3/4 of the guys I knew that fished 10 years ago are out of the industry now
that trip that was videoed last fall was a good trip but not as good as it would be in the spring, the scallop meats are 50% smaller in the fall after they spawn out

I'm running a towboat for a tow/salvage company in the Bay Area right now but yes I have run boats in Pedro. You work down there?
I lived in san pedro all my life up until 2 months ago when my girlfriend and i got our own house in Harbor City, right by narbone high school.
