Not sure where to put this. Want to dress up the engine a little, and maybe some coating will help hold heat in/keep underhood temps down a bit, whatever.

Was thinking of doing my uppipes, valve covers, maybe exhaust manifolds, maybe turbo pedestal. Any other ideas or yay/nay on above parts?

I got 3 cans of VHT Flameproof paint:

SP118 Primer
SP101 White
SP115 Clear

The curing process involves baking and cooling at different temperatures and intervals to get the full temperature holding ability. Seems like pretty stout stuff.

Ill post some pics when I get home (at the office for a few more minutes right now) of the parts, then gotta prep them and get them all clean, then Ill be spraying some primer.

you could have the exhaust manifolds honed, I would coat everthing with ceramic.

And after a light coat of primer

Gonna let that dry about 1 hour and do 1 more coat, then it goes in the oven for its curing process.

Wonder how it will taste:rofl:. Looks good, Let us know how it holds up.

More like, "How's the next thing he cooks in that oven going to taste?" He must not be married. No way a married guy is allowed to do that unless the oven is in the shop.

Looks good SIK....

as soon as you put the motor in the truck you will realize you just wasted a lot of time doing all that for nothing...you cant even see the valve covers. :p:

at least with twins, you can see about 6 square inches of the driver side valve cover, and thats about it.

Ill have twins so its ok Ben, and no EGR ;)

no, im saying when you do have twins, you cant see any of the passenger side valve cover. And only a small portion at the front of the driver side valve cover.

clear coat would be a good idea, I didnt clear coat mine and it kinda chipped in a few places, but I just reach in there with spray paint once a month or so and do a ghetto touch up

bahh I thought about painting this block, but you cant see the block either once the motor is in the truck, only thing painted block is good for is finding leaks. :p
