Velvet Deer

Ok I am not the biggest and badest deer hunter but I came across something I have not seen in person in about 10 years this last weekend. I saw a deer still in velvet so I shot it. When I walked up to it I looked at its genitals and well he did not have any balls. I took a few bad pics and they are posted in the link below. (You can also see the entry and exit wounds my 30-06 did to his neck.) I eventually will take some better pics of the horns the base of the horns were starting to get very thick because they don’t ever shed them, they just keep growing. I just thought this was cool and a little unusual so I thought I would like to share it with everyone.

It is hard to tell but the deer is big. I think he was 2.5 but my uncle aged him at 3.5.

That's a pretty strange deer Rob? It almost seems as if it's been cut, like barring a hog. The still in velvet really stumps me!!!

Poor fella has been shooting blanks his whole life!

Friend was telling me that had heard of some deer like the one you shot. Said he had seen some Hermaphrodite deer. Male and female parts. Said that someone had shot one in Indiana.

Ive heard of does with spikes before but nothing like this. Should have sent so samples into the state wildlife office.
