DuramaxDiesels is hands down my favorite online forum. Like the site the way it is and I'm not saying a change is in order. However.... One of the other boards I post on uses Vbulletin 4.2.0 and the setup is really nice! Just out of curiosity, what would prevent us from utilizing this version? A slight up charge? Again I don't want to come across as complaining merely just inquiring.

Would have to be purchased. I would have to figure out what mods I have on here and if there are equivalents for 4.2. Then I would have to upgrade the site and fix all the problems that vB likes to introduce with their 'upgrade'. 4.x series had a lot of problems but around 4.18 or so they got better. But the 5.x seems to be crap. I would prefer to move to xenForo but there is no Garage for xF and I don't want to loose it.

Not sure it would be worth it but I'm just the code pusher for the site.

Thanks for the reply. Again I wasn't complaining or anything just wondered. I too like our site the way it is, but its human nature sometimes to assume the grass is greener. My apologies.

I love the site the way it is. It's the only one that those *^*^% pop ups in the lower right and left corners DON'T show up on. Can't seem to figure out how they started showing up like what I did for it to start happening or how to get rid of them.

Vb 4.xx Is not bad to work with at all after the whole thing is tweaked in and everybody is done complaining but that involves several months of bad vibes that may or may not be detrimental to the site so, having been through that, I would suggest staying in the 3.xx mode as long as it is possible. You WILL probably have to change some day though...
