so i realize it could be a vps but i have already replaced that. i also dont get any vps codes just the p0102 and p0103 codes and my fuel mileage plumits to below 10mpg. i also dont get any extra black smoke, i mean there isnt any black smoke really except my 150 tune. but why does my truck cycle real quickly even while im driving down the road.
the truck wont cycle when its cold, only when its hot. now it is sluggish somedays more then other at lower rpm's, but why will it cycle even when i am driven? i did do some research and cant find a thing on it except possibly a broken wire on the maf sensor.
i do have a spare turbo i ported but i dont have time to stick it on till summer(no garage).
so has anybody experienced this? i also replaced the solenoid and have done the relearn for both.

i do have efi live by atp.

Why are you changing turbo stuff when you have MAF codes? Can you get a log of the MAF while this is happening? Have cleaned the MAF? Tried swapping or replacing it?

well I had a code for the turbo vps and then I put a new one on and still had vanes sticking because of smoke.. But then I ran it hard and the vps code went away(also did relearn) and now I get those codes and it only cycles when its warm. Wont cycle when cold or just started

the vps code and relearn was 3months ago. Ran good for 1month and now I just keep getting these codes.. But now its all the time and the cycling is all the time once warm

i just took the maf sensor off and cleaned it extra good with spray, and i took the plug off of it and cleaned that with electric cleaner and checked all wires. i noticed that the maf sensor on my delete tube didnt seem to seal to good so i bent the medal bracket a little to apply more down force into the fitting for the sensor and put a washer on the bolt to give me more room to tighen down. i did that because it seemed to bottom out before everything felt snug.

i drove 120 miles and have no check engine light and not cycling at all. even at idle and start up.. bumped my mpg's back to 18-20 on highway but now the turbo isnt cycling at all. i think i am going to try a new maf sensor also when i replace my turbo

so here is the update. i kept haven the same codes and constant cycling even while i was driven and giving it throttle. so lastnight i installed gauges and i replaced the vps sensor with the sensor in my turbo that i ported and will be going on.
the cycling stopped and i only get the vps code now which i cant get it relearned till tomm so i am hoping that will fix it until i get the new turbo on in a few weeks.

i figured i needed to get the sensor relearned for the new turbo either way and i am sick and tired of it cycling all the time..
