vane position?

so i got curious pulling my turbo off, and pull the v-band clamp off to see inside. i know how the plate goes on and which direction, my question is on the vanes, when i put the two halves back together, do the tab/finn on the vanes need to go in the slots in the plates when i put it back together? or just make sure the oval groove is on the pin on the turbine side and put the clamp back on?

The tabs on the vanes need to be installed in the slots on the ring/plate

i was being retarded when i was trying to put it together. for some reason i thought the plate sat above the vanes.:doh: i got it together though. thanks!!
