Mike, whats your opinion on this? The parts shop told me it would work in the allison, "it says for GM vehicles right on the bottle". Well, after dumping in 1 qt, I could tell it seems like regular ATF, not the HD stuff for allisons. I cant see an allison listing anywhere on it.......

LOL....I posted here before doing much other research, wanting to hear right from you first Mike...... I then went to that other site and saw how well you like commenting on oils :D
If it was the race truck, I wouldnt use it. Since its the work truck and I think the tranny is going to have to come out this winter anyway I'll put the dex IV in there for now. Thanks for the quick response Mike!

None of us knows what the best fluid is. Certain fluids can be better than others for many reasons. Synthetics are the best hands down. Which one is better? I go by experience and what has worked for me. My choice is Citgo Quatrasyn. Now the arguments start with; we hate hugo chavez, he hates America ( in a weasel voice ). I don't give a rats ass about who made the fluid because I answer to only one person and that is you.
McRat has fried 2 converters staging on the line and went on to race numerous times ( one of those suckers was a 10.59 :witch:) and upon trans teardown, there was no damage to clutches or anything else.

Jason I run the very same oil in my 02, so far no issues but in the end when I asked Mike the same question, he gave me...yep you guessed it..."you should be fine" :D

Thanks a lot for the input guys. I cant find Citgo locally around here. I have one place in town that carries Mobil stuff in bulk, but he charges like its being sold by the qt (maybe dramatized a little).... The other place only sells stuff by the qt, which happened to have the Dexron.
The last close GM stealership shut down a month ago so transynd would have to be ordered in also.
I guess we'll see if the Valvoline makes it to winter.....:physchic::thumb:

I didnt know NH made an ATF. Is it hydraulic oil? We have a 55 gal drum of John Deere Hy-guard (hydraulic and trans. fluid). I never even thought of using that!
