Like an idiot I hired someone to make a repair on an old car of mine. While he was in there I had him do a valve adjustment too. Long story short, he gave up on the car because he couldn’t start it for 2mos. Distributor was 180* out - I fixed it in 5 mins. Then I picked it up and it had a tap tap tap tap…. I did a valve adjustment today. One was a c hair off. No mo tappy tap tap. I see that I have a massive oil leak now too. Must be where he replaced the top cover when he put the new fan in.
Why didn’t I just do it myself
. So now it runs, it doesn’t tap, the timing is set, the idle is set, and the carbs are balanced. Yay.
Oh, and a brand new battery had one terminal decide to stay with my tachometer when I unplugged it. lol. Wtf?! lol
