V2 question

So when hooked up to my computer my efi works great for scanning, logging, checking codes, and tuning. But when I try to use just the v2 to check something I get this message

Did I miss a step registering it or is there an option I need to select or what? I can't do anything read trouble codes, and even then all it shows is the code number and no description. Or am i crazy and this is normal? Any ideas?

Did you format it for Black Box/V8 functions? Do you have a memory card in it?

I believe I formatted it for that yes but maybe not. I will double check. And no I dont have a memory card in it either so I will do that first. Thanks!

You need the memory card in there for the features to work. The DTC list, PIDs, Tune files, and log files all get saved to it. That thread from DP will get ya straightened out. :thumb:
