V2 and clearing codes?

When I try and clear tranny codes with the V2 after a limp :angel:, it doesn't like to clear them even with the computer plugged in, is there anything that will help this, because I hate the 30 secs worth of retuning the truck to get things reset properly.

i have always had to shut the truck off then turn the key to run and clear them i could never clear them while the truck was still running

I couldn't even get them to clear without the truck running after numerous attempts. IO try not to make a habit of limping the dang thing, but it has been happening more recently.
