If 85 back housing means it is a .85 AR exhaust housing, that may be a little tight for a Duramax (especially it it isn't waste gated). Other than that, it looks like a decent deal.

I believe you can change the exhaust housing for something bigger. Might want to check on what a different housing will cost you.

There are a few people who have or have had a 4094R on their truck. I'm sure they'll chime in. They are a pretty popular turbo.

yeah but the 06 LLY's & LBZ's have weak pistons that will blow with the stock turbo the bigger turbo will only aggrevate the problem.

I like my GT4094R
I think a .95 A/R and a wastegate would make it perform alot better and safer.

What gears are you running because if it is 3.73's the 1.06 housing will be laggy with the tires you have

yes 3.73 with 38s, but this winter the truck will be going under the knife and put back to stock height, built motor, twins, dual CP3s...

I love the 4094 but when they go out it is expensive to repair.

If you plan on building your motor in the winter you will quickly outgrow both of those turbos. You would be better off getting a larger turbo to start with.

The HTT, BD and II Silver Bullet turbo's are a good upgrade above stock and they are around 66mm compressor inducers and have 0.80 AR's... Quite a few people use these as the small charger in a twins setup too. It's a bit small for all out performance but is excellent for towing and daily driving.

The 4094R is similar in size as far compressor goes, but the housing on the 4094 is looser. The 4094 might be a bit better all out performance than the others, but like kevin L said it would be a bit laggy on your truck. I don't know from experience but I would have to agree.

The 66mm HTT on my truck is not laggy and performs well with 35" tires and stock 3.73 gearing.

From what I read, I wouldn't go with anything less than a garret 4202R if your looking for strictly performance truck. Could debatably even be daily driven depending on the tuning.
