Why not? 4bt and the manual would make for a fun little truck. Not a racer, but sure would sip fuel.

The Isuzu is supposed to run ALOT smoother than the CUMMINS, can make very decent power easily, and it's alit lighter than the Cummins 4bt(supposed to weigh right around 700 lbs compared to a 4bt weighing almost a 1K). Only downside I've heard of is finding parts for one. The 4bd2 is said to be tough to get parts for, but the earlier direct injected 4bd1 is even harder they say. I've had the crazy idea of building a 2 wheel drive Tahoe with a Merc inline 6 om606 in it. Pretty easy to get to 350-400 HP, TOUGH, and they are said to get 28-30 miles per gallon even in full size swaps.
