I have recently started competing in 200 foot drags on chiesled ground (corn field type track with staging tree and lights). I am looking to get faster and jump to the next class and run against lighter trucks. I have no competion in the stock V-8 200 class and am looking to go to 300 or 400 classes and there times are not much quicker than mine. Anyone have any tips or additional mods that I should do that are not in my sig ? Thanks, Eric

Depends on the dirt, but you are perhaps going to see the best gains with tires and weight.

Add 1000lb to the front area of bed, drop tires to 25PSI, and do a VERY aggressive boosted launch.

When you say very aggressive boosted launch what do you recommend? I am doing alot of spinning that is were the weight would help along with tires. The dirt is good Iowa black dirt

It is north of Park veiw IA near DeWitt. Here is the website, its not much yet. I think they are working on it. www.umrabog.com If I could figure out how to post a viedo I would.

i do 200ft dirt drags, my pullin setup does pretty good, tires are key and your tire pressure...i launch around 2000rpm and blow all 4 off the line but its on clay so it hooks quick after that, do you drop your t-bars?

I as well launch at 2000 rpm. I have not really messed with t-bars or pressures yet as I have only raced three times and all three times taken first. Now I want to move to the next class were the other guys laugh at me because they think I cant hang with the weight I have. Last saturday I did get a good powerstroke kill:D The only diesels that run are in the stock class so I will be up against hyper gassers running swampers in the next class.

As Pat stated, tire pressures way down.

I set the truck up just like drag racing, remove weight, lower the tbars, air down the tires. I was surprised how much boost I could leave with. The tires spin hard, but hook fast. I beat the 1000hp bully dog pinks truck in the finals of a 1/8 mile dirt track.:D

youll prob wanna run all 4 tires down to 30PSI or less, thats what i run my fronts at and the rears are up at 45PSI but thats my pullin setup, were i do dirt drags is the same place i pull so its all the same night. good luck.
