Okay guys, I live in upstate ny and looking to purchase a truck for the winter, I haull sleds on a 2 place snowmobile trailer, looking for something practical (descent fuel mileage) but it needs four wheel drive. Budget ehh idk 5-10 k, Give me some ideas as i refuse to drive a 25k lbz in the winter especially after i just drove to Tennessee to get it!

Doesnt necessarily have to be truck, it can be what ever!

Here in mn you can pick up pretty nice suburban and Yukon XL's for under $10k, the 5.3's are ok on power and get decent mileage. They seem to be a lot cheaper that trucks of same year and mileage.

Yukon, nvr thought of that. Still a 1500 just more cargo room.

High miles lb7, also been thinking of that just because high mileage means Injectors probably been done before, what scares me away is NY rust. Rusty components under hood get exspensive super quick

Whatever you buy, you're going to have to repair it someday anyway.....who gives two cents what the body looks like?
Id find a rusted 1/2 ton 4x4 excab gasser that has a decent frame and drivetrain and just run it.

I was going to say ZR2 S10, but then I saw the part about needing to haul a couple of passengers and figured they would be a little cramped in the rear jump seat. I had one and loved it though.

Blazer version, but rust is probably going to be a problem.

What about the Chevy Colorado? I never really hear many people talk about them, so I don’t know if they’re worth a shit or not.

Biggest motor they had was a inline 5. They run good but don't think your going to find one for to cheap. They stopped making s10s in 04, I bought my 01 2.2l 5 speed from Georgia with 123,000 on it for 3k a few years back, has 195,000 on it now. Trucks can be had cheap and parts are even cheaper. Something like this https://m.autotrader.com/cars-for-s...Year=1981&offset=60&mmt=[CHEV[S10PICKUP[]][]]

I picked up a 75 ford camper spec 4x4 for a beater. Loving it and it'll tow anything I can hook to it.. as for fuel mileage that's out the window

Thanks. :) I really like those years Fords. A little TLC and that one would be really nice.

390/C6 combo?

Years ago I had a '73 2wd F250 with a 390/C6. It was a lot of fun.
