Did someone put black rims on that or is it just the picture?
Twin beds? Wifes not going to be happy with that since she won't be able to cozy up to you at night
...
You heard her, she's trying hard to fit a double bed in that space. Your futon/daybed idea might work.

Airstreams are really cool and made right here in Ohio.
I have a question for you guys that know a little bit about them. Why are the new ones really, really expensive, but you can pick up a pretty nice one used for cheap?
Is that common for most trailers, huge depreciation after a few years?
I think other trailers depreciate more/faster than the Airstreams.
Just like anything else, depends on year/model/condition. The new ones keep going up in price. The guy that bought our 04 was at the dealer to look at a new one, and there's ours that was almost new for thousands less.
The 60's and earlier, single axle, under 20 ft are going up. Got about $10,000 when I sold my 1962 19 ft back in 2004
after about 1967 Beatrice foods bought Airstream and started cheap-n out everything, until early 80's when Thor bought Airstream and started getting them back where they needed to be. You can find them cheap in the late 70's and 80's.
Somewhere around 64-67 they started clearcoating the aluminum. Durning the late 70's they either had bad aluminum or clearcoat process which is why the clearcoat peels. I just found out the earlier ones, like the 72 we just got are plasticoted. It wasnt peeling, but hazy looking. I've started stripping off the plasticote so I can polish it like the link to the one posted earlier
