U1000 code, glow plug light doesn't go out

I have an LBZ 2007 Classic CC/LB that is EFILive Autocalled with a DSP5 switch by Idaho Rob.

I have had a U1000 code pulling the code from Autocal. A regular scanner cannot pull the code.

The truck runs, starts, uses the DSP5 switch just fine. The glow plug light stays on and doesn't go off, but the truck starts up just fine anyway. I assumed it was a glow plug from the behavior but the car just shows a U1000 code. (no other codes)

Anybody have any ideas? A bad ECU I assume would not be running just fine. The code popped up not soon after the ECU flash, but it was also winter time (Virginia). I would just replace the glow plug, but to me it does not make much sense, considering it is U1000, not a glow plug code.

U1000 codes are communication errors between modules. So with the glow plug light on and this code it points to a issue with that controller. Could be grounds, power (check fuses) or a faulty glow plug controller.

In the last two years and reading thousands of post I rarely have come across a GPCU failure, may just keep the low mileage one I have for sale. Hope you find the problem
