Here ya go sled pullers.

Just finished bench testing this Duramax calibrated throttle with Livorsi. Now lets try one in a truck.

You can drive, I'll man the throttle... :roflmao:

Ryan is wrapping up the first set of water cooled up pipes. Think I found me a welder...

Only thing left for him now is fit intake flange and weld in charge tubes. Then it's down to plumbing and electrical work for me.

Will the cooled exhaust adversely affect the turbo output and if so how do you compensate for it? I am working on a stock lmm for a boat and considering either wraps or a blanket or both.
Thanks

Never notice a difference. But what's more important anyways is safety. The water cooled is just safer if you have a fuel leak.

All the turbine boat fires of recent were very heavily insulated and shielded, yet still found a hot source to ignite. So my theory is water insulate much as can. But as ya see the turbine housings are not, and will be heavily wrapped...

I 'm with you on the safety. Got a set of Pro Fab stainless manifolds and up pipes, just dreading putting jackets on them.
Absolutely beautiful build you have going on, when do you hope to complete it?

I've been working towards getting Rick to build a few sets if water cooled manifolds and up pipes if your interested. These ones above are cmi, and while pretty, not best fitting out of the box.

Yeah, that would be sweet but I'll probably attempt to jacket these. Any thoughts on what they would sell for, and what time frame?
Are you cooling with engine coolant or sea water?

The goal is to build a nice 316L set for under 3k, but so far that figure has eluded me. Looking at about 5k in that set above.

But I have a couple other people who need something within a few months, so I'm committed to producing something affordable.. In house in need be.

Those engines will run heat exchangers, is for a salt water boat.

Stopped by to check progress today. Down to charge pipes, then onto set #2..

While wrapping up intake boost tubes, I started working on something fitting to go on the inlet side of the turbos. Because I wanted the turbos tucked so tight against the Banks charge cooler, I kinda painted myself into a corner on filter or stack options.

Second issue, I want a functional MAF on each turbo, along with a PAS [positive air stop] system. Easy fix would been ditch the dual MAF's and bring both turbos into a single air box then toss an air knife on it. Too easy, and would look like crap. So after some searching I found couple companies who specialize in PAS setups using spring loaded butterfly valves. One is willing to work with me on a R&D arrangement, so here is my draft idea for velocity stack, MAF tube, PASS units in one...

Thoughts?
