How often do you guys with twin turbos have to change filters with no box over it keeping all the stuff swirling around the engine compartment out? I've always wondered since out here our filters in stock boxes get nasty pretty often. Hell maybe it's less? What about splashing mud and water at it?

I change mine as needed per visual inspection.

I also have a plastic guard I cut out to cover my filter since I have no fender liners

Get a spare filter and always have a clean one ready. Switch it every time you change the oil.

Isn't that what everyone does? On dad's 04 I sometimes have to change filters in between oil changes.

No problems with water on them when you drive on wet roads where the tires throw it around?

Anyone tried the s&b air filter socks. I had one on my gasser and the filter itself was never dirty. I don't think I ever cleaned it once

Pre filters are sweet, and help extend the service interval of the primary filter:thumb:
