EDIT: below is the original post but this has turned into quite the tech thread so it’s been retitled and moved to turbo talk. Good options for what I want to run on my truck!

In no rush but keeping my eyes out on a larger twin kit. Looking for a valley charger (Danville 68stg2r only, may change options here)

twin kit for lly, maybe lbz if they don’t require a ton of retrofitting

Larger primary charger. Something in the 88mm or slightly larger (missed Luke’s sadly)

My old stuff will go for sale but not till this is all acquired

I think Jake Banman still has an LBZ kit for a VGT for sale. Let me find out.

I'm not sure I would stick with a VGT with that big of a primary unless you plan on gating around it.

that was partly my idea but its all up in the air really. im debating on how laggy i can allow the truck to be and still be fun to me :roflmao:

I have an NLX 88 feeding a 72R. The 88 doesn't spool quite as quickly as the TCT 83 it replaced but when it does.... I don't have any gates and it seems pretty happy. Not sure I'd want to go any bigger though. Should have the truck back in the next week or two. All this is based on memories since it has been down for the past 18-20 months haha

yeah im not expecting this to be fast spooling like i have now. the 1.15 AR i have on the 83 brings that thing on fast to go with the IHI but im ditching that. kinda figuring either a 72 vvt or going with a sxe 369. a converter change is going to have to come with all this change up too.

maybe i should just put the 88 over my IHI :roflmao::roflmao:

He still has it, it's an SDP kit with a 2 piece bridge. I will send you a phone number in a PM.

Honestly I think you'd be happier with a 369sxe in the valley. I had a Danville 68R 4094 with high flow vanes and it didn't drive anywhere near as good as I wish it did. Friend of mines truck with a 366 spooled a touch faster and drove better in transient conditions.

I feel the issue to me is that the truck over-corrects the vanes to build boost then as they slowly release/open up the truck finally came up on boost and started to pull hard. This could have been due to tuning but I ran ATP, had it locally dyno tuned, and SixX Calibrations all with the same drivability characteristics. Some where better than others but nothing that made me pleased.

Too closely sized IMO. 369/488 would be pretty awesome. If you've got the 475 and don't want to replace it you could always go a smaller S300 in the valley.
A 363 or 364.5 and a 475 or 480 is what we will be trying on my LML after playing with the stock/475 setup.

I run a sxe364.5/74/.91 and a Billet 480/96/1.32 and love it. Spools great, tows 14k great, and makes 950 safely without needing a gate. Drive pressure is safe as well, I could push the truck over 1k hp if I wanted drive pressure to go high. According to Dominic at starlite, my logs i sent prove this setup comes into boost similar to a drop in single charger.

I would steer away from the VGT part, many local trucks including a friend of mine run a 68vgt Danville and a 484 and make 1000hp as well, although their drive pressure is sky high and creates enough of an issue it blows coolant on hard pulls (lifting the heads). Engine is fully built with studs and fire ringed heads mind you not. The guy switched to a 369sxe in the valley and hasn’t had these issues since. Had a Danville 72r before all of this and it was even worse for drive. Food for thought !

I’d be happy to send videos of mine if you’re curious. I have no complaints other than it’s snappy and gets me in trouble
