We decided to try the new Banks SuperScoop and their RamAir CAI on Wendy, our 2006 GMC Duramax.

The Bank's kit is very complete and has good instructions. Parts are well-made. But the problem is that it does not truly seal the air into a "Ram Air" intake, just a Cold Air Induction. This is so you don't suck water into the engine. SO THIS MODIFICATION IS FOR RACING ONLY and you should remove the steel strip in wet conditions.

So here is what I did to seal the Bank's system, and also some other comments. It's not instructions, since it comes with good instructions:

So it looks like you eliminated the hole at the fender inlet and are only using the scoop now, is that correct? Have you had a chance to check the results...

The Superscoop kit comes with a steel blocker plate for the fender inlet. I just seal it better. 100% of the air comes from the high pressure area under the bumper.

We are getting ready for Bakersfield, and testing a number of different things.

Wendy will be on the dyno tomorrow. Do not expect "ram air" to show power on a dyno, it usually doesn't.

Do you plan on testing it both ways, I'm using the Volant with the scoop, but mines open to the fender as well.

I have one of these Ram Airs on my truck and the filter minder doesn't move. Checking the IAT's with EFI Live they stay very very close to ambient temps at idle sitting still and dive quickly when moving. I did a review on DP about the install with a few pics. I will have to try your ideas Pat if i ever make out to the track again:rolleyes:
