ok guy's got a few questions. i have been thinking a bout a turbo for my truck looking at maybe a 6.8 cheetah if brayden ever gets back to me :D or something similar im not exactly sure what this will blow for boost but do you guys think i need head studs for this turbo? and untill i build my motor for pulling i would like a street turbo like the cheetah or maybe something else if this isn't going to be available for a while.. so what is there for similar turbos that wont blow apart my stock motor? :)

so cal
40-94 would be a good choice. but any thing at any time can make the motor go bye bye so just be prepared to pay

GT4094R is probably the best bang for the buck charger out there in my opinion at this time, Head studs yes if you dont plan on building your motor for some time. If your going pulling what class would you be looking at that also can play a role on what charger you should be looking at.

right now around here there are only 2 diesel pulling classes stock/improved stock and modified so not worried about that and i wouldnt mind buying a different turbo once i build my motor looking for a good street/towing turbo --- as for the motor build if anyone has seen my previous threads about the build is that i was wating to find out about a job well here is the thing they offered me an engineering job 6 figure salary but i have to go to school for a few years so when i get that out of the way hello motor build:D

right now i turn my proggramer down to 65 and run in the stock class as long as you dont blow very much smoke they let you have it in the stock/improved stock class (lmm with ppe usualy wins doesnt smoke a bit  stupid catalyst thing)

Turbo's

I would NOT put head studs in a motor that is not getting honed with a plate. Do a search on here on the subject. The block moves a bunch when tq. with head studs. I personally like the cheetah for a street driving truck. There hard to beat. Jeff

The best bang for the buch IMHO is the HTT 66. I dont really care for the 4094. It is not legal for any 2.6 class.

Blown head gaskets are rare. If you put studs in dont go over 95ftlbs. That is when the block starts to move alot.

FWIW I would rather blow a head gasket with out studs than crack a piston with them.;)

So Cal.
So what class do you want to compete in? Does it have a maximum inducer bore? The 40/88 is 2.53" and the 40/94 is 2.70". We can build you a custom pulling turbo also...
