Turbo

Hey guys I am in Afghanistan and am wanting to eventually do a bigger turbo on my truck. I'll be here for awhile I'm a contractor and contract is open ended. I thought about buying a bigger turbo but the thought just popped in my head to pick up a good used stocker have it mailed over here with all the rebuild options and larger components. Port and polish it than mail it home and install it. I'm a machinist over here so I can do the work just seeing if you think it's worth it or better off to just get a larger turbo I haven't any real HP goals but I guess being in the high 500 low 600 range is where I wanna be one day. Also planning on injectors.

I would think for the cost of shipping and parts you could buy a 3794 which will easily get you to your goals.

Isn't the 3794 pretty much an upgraded stock? I read the 13 page pissing match on it and saw its a scaled down 4094 but everyone says it's so close to stock it's not worth it? Turbo talk is like arguing what cult to join it seems like could I get low 600's with 45% sticks and a 3794 and not worry about reliability?

Think that's a good choice, leaves a little room to grow and are sweet little chargers for a dd!
