I'm having a problem, wait a minute I always have a problem, Anyway my truck is running poorly, lots of smoke no power, I've been reading some threads an ran across one where a guy had the similar problem with his an found the wastegate flap was broken inside the turbo, I'm only building 15psi at wot an it take awhile to so that, can u still build boost if the wastegate flap is broken an also could this be the problem????
I had a friend of my look at the log he thought it was a turbo issue also, any thoughts. I took my truck to GM ( yes those of u that knows me u read it right I give up) so I don't have it to check, but I can go in an check it in the morning.

did you pressure check the tubing and intercooler? I'd lean towards a blown intercooler before mussed up wastegate but anything IS possible.

What turbo do you run that has a built in wastegage? or do you have an aftermarket wastegate and think it's maybe fubarred?

You could pressure test the system its easy.. But that won't tell if the wastegate is bad, just the intake system. I forgot but is there a way to unhook your waste gate on that turbo and go for a spin?

What turbo are you running? Also if you had a broke wastegate I dont think you could build 15psi. You need to check for shaft play and then pressure check the system.

Double check the intercooler lines by the powerr steering pump too. With the kind of boost I'm sure you can build even a slight rub could let it blow out down there. I blew a hole in mine at stock boost levels while doing the swap. Few minutes with the mig though and they were good as new.

I don't know, they think the turbo is bad but I don't think so, I checked the wastegate an it's working properly, checked it with a regulator, I think when I had my cp3 off I got some dirt in the line, I'll try to post the balance rates #7 is going up an down,
