Are stock turbos interchangeable between different years like would a turbo for a lmm work on a lly and would make it more power or would be a waste of time and money

I think its a smaller turbo....Could be wrong

thanks one friend is getting a new turbo for his lmm we thought the old one might fit another friends lly you know the price was right not sure how much different the two turbos are do know what the difference is

Well if you want to donate the lmm turbo to me i would take it

The LMM turbo would probably spool faster, but it wouldn't make any more power.

X2 the lly has a little larger exhaust housing, I think the newer turbos will spool a little quicker but thats it.

Didn't Pat try this when the LBZ first came out? IIRC, he didn't see any performance gains in going from the LLY to LBZ charger.

I have a LBZ charger on my LLY and noticed very little difference, it does spools slightly quicker than stock, but wouldn't do it unless there was a problem with the original turbo. (which was my case)
