My LLY takes for ever to get off the line... I don't know if its just mine or all of them... My friends with LBZ take off so much faster, what would be a good aftermarket charger that would light faster than stock? I plan to add dual fuelers and nozzles soon.

Thanks, Dylan

Its torque limiting in the tune. The turbo is not the problem if it still drives normal.

IMO, my 472 lights faster than that restrictive stock charger. Same tuning.

Stock charger spool has a LOT to do with the VVT position %. It gets closed up trying to make big boost under high throttle and it chokes itself.

Duramax Tuner did the tuning. And yes built trans and ML converter. But yes when it goes to second the power comes on pretty hard

I happen to know that there is a new T3 s472 for sale.... If you're interested let me know this turbo can be had at a great price!

LLY to LBZ turbo makes a huge difference. Its not tuning or anything that is limiting it. Its the fact that the LBZ turbo has a tighter exhaust side, which makes it much snappier.

Without even changing the tuning, if you just swap out an LLY turbo for an LBZ it will feel like you just cut your spool-up time by a huge margin.

The way my engine bay is setup right now, I can have the stock turbo off in 45 minutes. I put an LBZ one on (pulled off my stock LLY turbo) just for grins, and I love the thing. The first time I drove it, I could tell a big difference before I even got to the end of the driveway. Then when I turned out onto the road, the thing took off with barely any effort/throttle pedal like I had never felt my truck do before... Thats without any tuning changes, nothing. Just swap the turbos.

Whether its "faster" or "better performance", I dont know and I really dont care. I stopped caring about having a "fast" truck years ago. But I do know this LBZ turbo is a lot more fun to drive, and thats why Im keeping it on there.

Well that's the thing.. Most the Lbz get me at the line but I real em in quick and pass them... So I don't want to lose that if I slap on a Lbz turbo

It's in the tuning. I've put Stage 1 VGT garrett replacement chargers on them as a replacement, with tuning they spool as fast or faster than stock.

There's quite a few other things you can do to help. The LBZ mouth piece is a good start.

I have the lbz mouthpiece, and a 5" afe intake.. The tunes are written for the 5" intake but it doesn't spool any faster with the stock box it just smokes a shit ton more.

Ive driven the stg 1 Garrett and the stg 2's as well. Would pick the stg 1 over the 2. Not as lazy. Hardly worth spending that kinda money for little gain though.

A new stage 1 is about the same price as a new stocker and it's ball bearing. When the stocker dies it makes alot of sense to go stg 1!
