How much power do you want? (not imaginary)
do you tow?
Do you care about lag?

Those are some of the questions you will have to ask yourself before you buy/

Im a big fan of big singles, but setup is key and will make or break on how the truck drives.

power im looking to be in the 7 to 800 range. I do not tow with it and im not to worried about lag as long as I can spool it at the tree an run it on the street if I go with a single I wanna stay in the 2.6 or maybe 2.8 I was thinking about a s366, s472 s475, aurora 5000 or aurora 5500 as singles an for twins running a stock with a s475 or s480 just to many options lol

I would go with a TCT 472 with the 87 turbine and a 1.0housing or twins with a 366 or 466 over a 480 with a TCT wheel and a vband stainless turbine with the 1.30 AR housing. Both are capable of more than you want but they will also fit your desires as well. They are not out of the box units but don't perform like them either. You will nm it be disappointed.

Isn't Mark's 3794 capable of 750? That would be a great choice in my opinion, drivability and top end power. Some people do hate the vvt's though, might help keep your bottom end intact a little longer as well...

The 1056 is not going to like a big laggy turbo... Marks new 3794 with a big brother would be the ticket in the power range your wanting, with the converter you have now.

Since your not towing, big single all the way! Id do some research and see what the latest and greatest is. Definitely go with an s400 of some kind , they seem to hold up really well. And don't be scared of a 75mm or even even an 80. The larger turbos will come on higher in the RPM's and help the bottom end a little. I Love big singles but if you were towing often I'd suggest a compound setup.

I just went from an s472 single to a billet s480 single. I love this thing! Although my s472 did just fine on a stock stall precision ml converter, this s480 doesn't like it that much if you are trying to stage. Normal driving, it is just fine. My 1055 should be here tomorrow, should be night and day difference.
